Assassin Class Guides

The much anticipated class guide section complete with PVP and PVE builds for each class This time we will look at the Assassin.

Assassins are the most lethal killers in Hyboria. Those aspiring to the top of this profession face the most deadly regime of training, discipline, and study, but the ones that survive are executioners supreme.

No other class can deliver blows as deadly as an assassin. Their arsenal of lethal combos is complemented by their ability to slip past enemies unseen. Assassins can dual wield daggers with lightning speed and can modify their attacks against specific targets, such as unholy attacks against heavily armored foes, or poison attacks versus mana users. Few can stand against an assassin in combat.

Archetype: Rogue
Permitted Races: Aquilonian, Stygian
Weapons: Daggers, crossbows, and dual-wielding
Armor: Cloth armor and silk armor

Assassin
I can't find any solid posts or info on assassin abilities, and hybes is very incomplete. If anyone has anything, I'd be glad to post it.

Why would I play this class?

1. High single target DPS (Sneak attack goodness)
2. You enjoy stalking your target (the joys of a methodical kill)
3. Murder is a hobby (???)

Why would I pass on this class?

1. Identity crisis (again)
2. You are very squishy (one of THE squishiest)
3. Near mandatory beginning spec (Lotus is nice though)

General Assissin Info: The assassin is your typical rogue class. Now, opinions vary greatly. According to some, you are unable to kill players 10 levels below you. Other say Crom himself has an account and he plays an assassin. Assassins are stealthy and deadly. Its real problem is that all the rogue classes are stealthy and deadly. The Ranger can engage from range, the barbarian can engage multiple mobs.

Assassin in PvE: Have a tough time. Mob in this game pop up in groups, and this is not a class designed for groups. You just have to pick your battles. Most PvE centered (and most everyone from 1-40ish) go into Lotus for its survivability. After that you can switch into another build to suit your tastes. In groups your usefulness goes up a great deal as you no longer have to worry as much about survivability.

Assassin in PvP: For the problems they have in PvE, I'll bet you were hoping me to say they melt face in PvP. They are dangerous, no doubt, but not really more
dangerous than the other rogue classes, and that is where the problem lies at the moment. Corruption after 40ish is the spec of choice for PvP damage.

Age of Conan cheat - levathius "no limit time for trash mob" taktik

- Tos activate Selfrezz
- Whole Raid run inside and die in front of Levithius
- Now Tos use Selfrez and rezz all People
- Clear left Trash Mob
- Clear right Trash Mob
- Now pull the 2 Guards at Door and Timer starts , Boss will spawn in 2 min
- Happy farming

Age of Conan Cheat: Easy weapons from Atzels

Me and my guildies were running threw atzels to get me my one handers (Nithing Beheader and Forgehammer).

Nithing beheader (1HE) Drops from the box in the room behind atzel, Forgehammer (1HB) Drops from the box in the room with the locked doors, just before the hall where atzel is (It's the one with a ghost in it).

So we kept going in and out restting it, got one out of 2 hours.
I thought outloud in vent, "There has to be a faster way", my mate said "What if we just leave someone inside the room and then we all just reset it?"

So we did, i stayed in and they went out and reset it. I was going for the forgehammers, i accept the instance change before i went into the doors, so i was pretty much stuck. But then i moused over the wall and i could get to the box!


Anyway, here's how to do it:

Group setup: Demo, Barb (Me), Healer and a tank, we did it with a conq.

1. Zone in, start pulling mobs/pats in pulls of 2, have the demo Storm Chains one of the mobs and everyone else works on the other mob.
2. Clear up to the second floor where the locked doors are, go to the right side of the room (Outside of the room) and mouse over it repeatedly until you find the box.
3. Now you can let the two others go and get ganked in Khesh, or they can stay if they want. Have whoever is left to run outside, drop group and zone back in, then invite you once they are inside, they should be inside their own Atzels Fortress instance and you should get the message: "The system has detected you are not playing in the same instance blah blah blah: Click accept, make sure you are away from respawns and rinse and repeat.

That box drops a 1 handed blunt, Forgehammer. 2 handed blunx, Anvil Strike ( I think ) and Some blue arrows. Not sure of what else drops.

You could also do this with the box the room behind atzel, but it would be difficult as youwould have to fight the boss that spawns.

Also, the boxes respawn every hour, so if your alone you could just wait in the room after you killed the boss and alt tab to watch some movies or what have you, while waiting for the respawn.

Age of Conan Cheats: More on water running, attacking, steathing, casting

There are two methods of doing this. One is foolproof, but requires an NPC by water you can swim in, and the other method you can do anywhere, but is a little trickier (until you get the hang of it)

Side note: to other players, you are seen not running in water, but swimming in water. Except, really really fast and abnormally quick.

Foolproof method:

• Be swimming in water near an NPC


• Target the NPC and be somewhat close enough to where you'd be able to use your action key (not double click!) to speak to the NPC.


• Jump in the water, and as your UI enables itself (i.e., you are in the air), press your action key (default 'u'). You will go into dialogue with the NPC.


• Say goodbye.


• Enjoy walking on water until you walk back on land or you try to jump (both disable the ability).

More convenient, trickier method:
1-Be on land, but in the water deep enough so that if you attacked (which moves you forward), you'd start 'swimming.'
2-Go into your inventory and make sure you have NO WEAPONS EQUIPPED. Not even an offhand. Be empty handed, so when you attack, you punch (crucial, and I'll explain why later).
3-w, preferably with hotkeys, press attack (any direction), and then almost instantaneously (but not quite) hold your hotkey for "Hide." Your character will jab quickly with his/her fists as he/she moves forward past the point where he/she'd normally be swimming. Note: even though you hit the "Hide" key, you shouldn't go into stealth even when this trick works. To know if it worked, your skillbar won't disable like it normally would when swimming in water. If you suddenly see your skill bar go grey, backstep and try it again until it doesn't. Then try running into the water. You'll be able to walk on it now, until you actually walk on land (and then the game realizes it's made a mistake

The reason why you have to be unequipped, I've come to reason, is that the game just doesn't think as much when you are. The attack is faster, it's not 'unsheathing' anything in the game code. Just, for some reason, that extra split moment where it pulls out a weapon and swings it slower than a fist jab, just stops the exploit from working.

Age of Conan Exploit: Underwater Stealth

Have your weapon sheathed when doing this. Go close to an NPC that will open a dialogue cutscene for you and /sit.

Just as you start to sit talk to the npc to start the dialogue. After your character sits during the NPC dialogue, he will then stand up. After that, close the dialogue.

If you have done it right, when you try to move you will be pulled back. If you did it right, then stealth and you will be able to move. You can now walk on water.

If you swim down in the water you will be walking underneath it. To remove the effect, just go back onto land and fight something. Do not try to cancel the effect while still in the water, otherwise you will have to relog to fix it.

Kill Serurah Duo

I have done this with necro and TOS. Have the TOS in a pillar next to the door you came in. They will need to be as close to the ceiling as they can. Cast cyclones. Now, float the necro above the cyclones and start the encounter. Get out the necro pet. After the minions have spawned, they should stay in front of the mirror. She will run out and stick in the cyclones. Send in the necro pet and float the necro up to the ceiling and place him between the doorway and mob. Stop the cyclones after the pets get on her and run storm crown. Move TOS to necro. If you are in the right spot, only her knockback and root can hit you. You can get knocked back until you get pushed against the wall. The minions shouldnt move unless you get too close to them and Serurah shouldnt move at all. Kill her.

Ahazu-Zhagam Guide

This is a strategy that our guild uses...and is close too 100% successful...hope you find it useful.

Things to know before you begin:
Ahazu-Zhagam does barely any damage on his own, his poison cloud and add's are the key to the encounter.

The poison cloud:
If you stand in the poison cloud you will be afflicted with a stacking DoT that does around 300 a tick, stacking up to 900 if I'm not mistaken.

The adds:
Two adds spawn every minute after the pull, no variance. Your raid should have just enough DPS to kill these and do some DPS to the boss before the next wave.

The key to the encounter is to have your tank slowly backing up to avoid the poison cloud but not at a pace that will cause your raid to run out of room. While the tank slowly moves the raids job is to DPS the add waves as they spawn and get 2-3 combos worth of DPS onto the boss inbetween waves. If dealing with the adds are not a problem ranged DPS can stay on the boss at all times.

Things not to do:-Ripping aggro will destroy your attempt. Green gas will spam everywhere and you're better off to wipe immediately to save time.

• Moving your tank too slow. You'll notice when hes doing this as he will start to lose HP at a prodigious rate.


• Moving your tank too fast. You'll run out of room as the mob reaches its last quarter of HP.


• Try to buff up poison invulnerability and eat the cloud.

Guardians can use this exploit to hide the flag without the movement penalty. When the guardian takes the flag, he will use last stand. After he uses that, the skull will disappear. The movement penalty will also be gone. Now the guardian can just hide.

Age of Conan Cheats - Increase Miss Attacks When In Close Combat

Wait until you have been attacked by the player and that player has used something along the lines of root or stunned on you.

- When you are rooted, stunned, or something else keeping you in a fixed location type /stuck.

- If done right it should move you away a few steps from the player attacking you.

- If not done right try again until it actually starts working for you. Sometimes you need to do it at least 3 times before the teleporting actually starts to kick in.

- This can be very helpful if you do it over and over again as it makes it very hard for a player to actually be able to hit you when you are teleporting all around the map.

Age of Conan exploit: How to run while doing comboes

this expliot is really cool and fun, for this expliot you can run mount speed, while doing comboes while moving.

First of all, type /emote prone but dont do the emote yet. Now Mount up and press enter twice. and when its done, you are running on mount while doing comboes!

Do not to abuse this, if a gm sees you, its 1 day ban.

Age of Conan exploit: Combos on Horse

Step 1: Mount your steed!
Step 2: Go into any building in your guild city.
Step 3: Make sure you're the only one in the zone, and log out.
Step 4: Wait a bit for the server to register the empty zone.
Step 5: Log in.
Now you will be inside the building while it is built around you. Stay where you are, and it will throw you out when it finishes building. You will get knocked back, and then get back up, and still be on your horse. You can now use combos and abilities like you were walking. You cannot be knocked off in combat. Swimming removes this.

Age of Conan Cheat: Wolves in kyllikki

The wolves that spawn in Kyllikkis crypt, during the last boss fight can be bugged out.

Once you enter the boss room, on the left, in the corner behind the pillar you can place the wolves, and run away from em:

Heres the actuall strategy: Have two tanks pick up the wolves and a ToS with aoe root with you at the start. If you kite em over there, AoE root them and run asap to the other side of the room. If you sucseed, they will just stand there throughout the fight, if ppl dont agro them back.

Age of Conan Exploit: Instance/epic farming (with out getting Bound to them)

This really Simple.

1st. Get a raid together(Everyone in the raid must be unbound to whatever instance you are doing)

2nd. Clear the instance, kill the boss. When the epic chest drops NO ONE OPEN.

3rd. Have everyone but the raid leader type /camp. As soon as the 30 secound log out timer starts, CLICK EXIT GAME.(this will close AoC, and make the servers think something has happen and you lost connection to the server.

4th. The raidleader waits for everyones name in the raid turns grey. That means its safe for all to log back in game.

5th. After ppl start logging back in raidleader types /camp relogs. Now everyone should be unbound to the instance, loot the chest. REPEAT over and over. I have done Yakhmak like 17x in one day. Hes is very easy to farm for epic gear.

Age of Conan Hints and Tips

Entering the world of Hyboria can sometimes be confusing and many players could use a few tips to get them started. To aid in the learning curve Funcom added some useful tips on the loading screen for players to read as they load into the game. However, there are many of these tips and you can never be sure if you will get the same one or a new one, so Ten Ton Hammer has put together a nice collection of these tips to aid you in your journey through Hyboria.

• Press "I" to view your inventory


• Loading tips can contain useful information on gameplay.


• Hit Backspace to toggle between run and walk


• "Shift R" toggles between weapon sets.


• Holding "CTRL" displays your shields and using the "Direction Arrows" shifts their distribution.


• Combos do more damage than normal attacks.


• Press "U" to activate usable items in the world.


• "ALT + Z" toggles the GUI on and off.


• Press "F11" to take a screenshot


• Remember to train your feats after gaining a new level.


• Double-click a Quest Goal on your map to make it your active quest.


• Hold alt to swap to alternate hotbar.


• When clicking Tabs for Inventory, Character, etc., hold "CTRL" to only open the left side or "ALT" for the right side.


• Drag and drop items into the chat to create a link for others to see.


• Toggle between walk mode and jog mode by pressing backspace.


• "Shift-Click" bags to loot all items.


• Double tap a movement direction while in combat to make your character dodge in that direction.


• "Shift L" to lock in your shortcut bar so you don't drag them off when you least want to.


• Holding down your right mouse button and pressing the left one will make your character move forward.


• You can switch playfield instances by clicking the gold down-arrow above your minimap. Check if you and your friends are in the same instance.


• Pressing "ESC" will bring up the options window.

These tips and hints can prove useful during your time in Hyboria. Mark them and use them well as they can save you time and in some cases your avatar's life.

Skip the elite boss in the quest "The Darkest Nightmare"

What the title says...

In wild lands of zelata, you get a quest from the outcast camp to kill an elite boss, summoned from a grave near the camp.
So, you've been cutting yourself over not finding a group to do it? Well here's the thing.
You need to only summon the boss using the grave! After that, you can run away from the boss or just die to him, and go claim your blue reward, cash and experience from the questgiver.

Age of Conan Exploit: Solo Yakhmar

As of now (18th of Aug) it is possible to solo Yakhmar.

Prereq: aocbuddy (or another way to drop thru the floor, with max-zoom-out feature), 1 ToS, and 0 or more aoe dps with 20m ground target. ToS+Necro works good. Full set of +frost invul gems.

Issues and resolutions:

1. he resets to 100% life. However, ToS cyclones keep him aggro.

2. He keeps doing blizzard (700ish dmg), mitigated with frost invul. He keeps doing slam (2500ish dmg) mitigated with frost invul.

With one healer, 50% frost invul and adding necro absorb shield, this becomes no problem.

Time to kill: approx 4hr one ToS solo (dps comes only from cyclones and idol). Approx 2hr for 2xTos. Approx 1hr for 2xToS and 1xNecro.

Settings required: no particles, and no audio. By the end of the fight you will have hundreds of his adds, all increasing screen lag by a lot. Mitigated largely with min settings, no particles and no audio.

To loot must clear adds around the chest. Chars that are lvl 75-79 get about 6k exp per kill on these. Easy to get 70% of the level in 20 minutes by clearing all adds. Box seem to stay there unopened for 30minutes (haven't tried for longer).

Drops T1 pants and gloves.

Necro pet exploits

This exploit is most useful for grinding/loot/quests. It enables a Necro to kill nearly any mob in the game solo.

What do you need?
-A Necro with pets (the more the better).

Step by step process:
1.Find a mob you wish to kill.
2.Locate a spot the mob cannot get to (water, cliffs, rocks, walls, basically anything you can get to that the enemy cannot)
3.Send your pets to attack. Naturally the enemy will begin evading, but since your pets do constant damage they will reinitate the attack after the evading and kill them (sometimes the enemies will not evade at all).

Typically this works out without the enemies attacking you or your pets. The best possible senario is to initiate the attack yourself then move into position and throw the pets on. If you're in a spot where you can cast spells you can make the fight go faster (water makes it impossible to cast so the pets will have to do all the work).

This has been tested on high lvl and epic mobs. Careful going too high though as I've noticed if you go around 8 lvls higher the pets will only do like 1dmg per hit. I have not tested this on raid mobs yet, but I am sure it will work so long as you can find a spot the mob cannot path to.

As you run around zones keep an eye out for mountains, walls, water, ect.

Age of Conan Bot - Combo Executer

How does the Combo Executer mod work?
The mod works by monitoring the state of your in-game icons. When it detects that a directional attack button is highlighted (remember, the game highlights the next button in the attack sequence) it virtually presses the key that corresponds to the highlighted button.

Quick Start

* 1. Start Age of Conan in Window Mode
* 2. Start the Combo Mod
* • Repeat the following steps for all buttons you want to process
* 3. Click the button you want to map on the mod
* 4. Right-Click the button you want to map to in AOC
* 5. Select the key the button is mapped to in AOC
* 6. Select the key you want to smash to continue your combo chain
